Our Cheetah coach, 1568, has been laid up in the depot for over 18 months. We realised it needed as new radiator core but when we removed the entire unit it was obvious that the header tank was beyond repair. Getting a new one made was a major exercise and once completed we then had to get a new core fitted. All that has now been done so on Friday it was taken round to the wash to clear many months of dust and swallow droppings.

There’s plenty more to do before it can be released for active duties. It will need a thorough check of all lubricants and a careful check of the brakes. Nonetheless we are close to road testing and if at all possible we’ll get it ready for Lytham Hall.
