One of our current restoration projects, Burlingham PD2 1467, continues to make progress. There has been a considerable amount of work on the bodywork recently which will be featured in the near future. This blog concentrates on the mechanical activity carried out in the past couple of weeks.
1467 has no engine and gearbox so they are being sourced from donor 1455. Both have now been removed along with vacuum brake pipes and next in line will be brake rodding and fuel pipes. Once removed the engine and gearbox were steam cleaned and will soon be given a thorough checking over. Hoses and clips will be replaced and it’s likely that some gaskets will need replacing. Plenty yet to do but this is a good step forward.
