A group of RVPG members headed south in Leopard 811 to attend the Alton Bus Rally. This is a major event now in its 23rd year and provides the opportunity to see and ride on many different buses as well as looking at numerous cars of various vintages. The rally is held on a large display field and is very professionally organised.

We (bravely?) offered 811 for service and during the day it completed two journeys to picturesque villages in the surrounding area as well as a couple of feeder services to Alton station. Picturesque villages are attractive to visit but almost inevitably tend to be located down narrow, twisting lanes which are not well suited to a heavy beast like 811. Our drivers certainly exercised their arms and shoulders. All in all an enjoyable weekend.
