This is the time of year when taking buses to events drops to a low level but that doesn’t mean our team put their feet up. Routine maintenance continues apace with all buses being given a fresh dose of antifreeze ahead of the winter. Various minor ailments are being addressed and of course the restoration work continues.
Over the past couple of weeks the platform area of 1349 has been the focus of attention with many new wood inserts being installed as well as a trial fitting of the sliding doors and the emergency door. The lengthy job of fitting a floor in 377 has been completed and work has begun on the rear end bodywork. Work has also resumed on RELH coach 1019, initially involving the replacement of wood sections at the front of the body.
