On Sunday, November 24th an event will be held at Samlesbury Hall to mark 65 years since the Bluebird K7 jet boat was built at the nearby works. This was the boat that Donald Campbell used to break the world water speed record; he died in an accident in the boat on Coniston Water in 1967. His daughter Gina will unveil a plaque at the Hall and there will be a display of vehicles including two buses from our collection. The plan is to take Lion 1161 and TD5 2057 subject to availability.
The event runs from 12.30 to 16.00 and the Hall’s cafe and bars will be open.
