Restoration work continues on PD2 1349. This batch had manual platform doors and those on 1349 were in poor condition. They have now been stripped down and the rotten parts removed. New framework was made for the lower parts and new panels have then been added to complete the structure. The platform area around the doors will now be modified so that a trial fitting of the doors can take place.

We’ve also been progressing the floor replacement on Royal Tiger 377. It may seem a simple matter to cut the plywood and slip it into place. Nothing could be further from the truth as it is a complex business cutting out the board so that various traps can be included. The bus is also a little unusual as the floor is directly mounted onto the chassis which has required a lot of insert pieces of wood to ensure it is perfectly level. Nonetheless, the floor work is almost complete so attention will soon switch to the main body structure.
