Our two buildings are having all lighting replaced by more powerful, low energy lighting. Not only will this greatly improve working conditions in the operational areas and offices but will use at most 20% of the electricity used by the old lights. We are grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for a major donation towards the cost of this upgrade.

Our restoration projects continue and National 382 has now had its sub-frames removed for refurbishment. As Leyland Nationals don’t have a separate chassis the body was designed to provide much of the strength in the bus. Royal Tiger 377 is also progressing with the driver’s windscreen now fitted and more electrical work carried out. Recently there was a trial fitting of the Royal Tiger badge. Morecambe AEC Regent 72 had some problems with the compressor and air system but these have now been resolved.

We’re starting to build up to our first big event at Morecambe in three years – see our events page for details.
