The clocks have gone back and the rain has come so RVPT activity is now mainly indoors. However, we once again ran the museum service in Preston on October 29th. A circular route linked four museums in Preston and a separate route ran to museums in Leyland. Despite the morning rain plenty of families enjoyed their museum visits and our buses.
Back at base work continues steadily on Royal Tiger 377 and PD2 1349. Work on the former is now focussed on the back end which was heavily modified when it was adapted to carry wheelchair passengers for the Cheshire Home. It is now being put back to its original configuration. 1349 has been given new wiring in both decks and work continues to fit wood inserts to the body structure. In addition Lion 1161 is having its radiator refurbished and work carried out on the engine. Cheetah 1568 has had its gear selector mechanism removed to allow repairs to heavily worn components. So, as you can see, we do not rest in the winter months.
