More activity in recent weeks including taking our buses to events organised by others. Over the weekend of September 4/5 several of our buses attended the running day and display organised by Town & District at Great Harwood. Examples from the Stagecoach and NBC eras from our collection attended. Over the same weekend we also supported a local event at Wrea Green organised by the local Rotary Club. With a wide selection of vintage cars, motor bikes and trucks it was well attended. We took Leyland Lion 1161 and newly restored PD2 1467 which attracted plenty of attention.

Meanwhile back at our depot work has continued. Leopard / Duple 1052 has been undergoing refurbishment. It’s now over 10 years since restoration was completed so some improvements were required. ¬†Once completed the coach was prepared for painting and will soon be back with us with shining paintwork. PD3 1775 had a engine transplant during the summer which seemed successful but some problems have emerged. It has been necessary to remove the heads from the engine and some components have gone for repair. Hopefully it will soon be fixed and available for service.
