Reg: PX04 DND
Chassis: Transbus Trident
Body: Alexander ALX400 H75F
The standard Stagecoach double decker of the low floor era was the Trident with Alexander ALX400 body. Over 1500 were put into service between 1997 and 2006 including a significant number with dual door bodies for London. RVPT has now added PX04 DND to the collection, fleet number 18139. It is officially a Transbus Dennis Trident with a 75 seat body.
New to Stagecoach Ribble, Chorley Depot for use on the 125/126 Preston, Chorley-Bolton service. 18139 carried route branding for this service. In 2009 it represented Stagecoach at the RVPTs Ribble 90 years events, held throughout the North of England, and was driven by our great friend and member of the RVPT, Douglas Bailey MBE. Due to the arrival of new vehicles to Chorley, 18139 was transferred to Morecambe. The vehicle was withdrawn in 2019 and was kindly donated by Stagecoach to the RVPT, to help our charity with a low floor easy access vehicle for our events. It will be repainted in Stagecoach Lancashire beach ball livery before entering service with the RVPT.
