After the flurry of activity in connection with our Morecambe running day we’re back to restoration work on our current projects. Over the past couple of weeks the main focus has been on Royal Tiger 377 and PD2 1349. The former has had most of its mechanical components refitted and a complete rewiring is now almost complete. We’re now starting to fit a floor which will allow work to start on rebuilding the back end which was heavily modified in the 1960s (see Our Vehicles section for the background).

1349 now has a new rear platform and currently we are rebuilding the area around the sunken gangway which was badly corroded. The gangway itself has been removed and a replacement is being fabricated. The first stage of rewiring has been completed and another section will be done shortly.
