Our activity over the winter months has been focussed on four buses; Tiger Cub 452, Leyland National 382, Lancaster Leopard 306 and PD2 1349

452 has had an engine transplant and after a good deal of effort this is now installed and the bus is ready for road testing. 382 is completing a lengthly and very thorough restoration. Virtually all the mechanical and electrical work was completed some time ago and now much of the bodywork is complete. Doors are always a challenge but the front ones are now fitted and the centre ones are being prepared. Lancaster 306 has now had most of its mechanical and electrical work completed so attention will turn to the bodywork. The work on 1349 has been confined to the interior. Most of the upstairs work is complete with new wood surrounds to all the windows and the ceiling has been painted and linoleum laid. The lower deck is now the focus and a new wooden floor has been fitted.

Plenty of ‘housekeeping’ has been underway as well with much sorting and housing of spares to allow easier access. Various items of equipment have been obtained which help to make our work more efficient. Soon the ‘season’ will be upon us so attention will turn to preparing the operating fleet for service.
