Saturday, August 8th was another hot, sunny day in north Lancashire. We held the second open day at our depot in conjunction with the Ribble Steam Railway who were operating trains headed by their venerable Furness railway locomotive.

It proved to be a popular event, indeed we were almost overwhelmed by the number of visitors. We provided our open top VR 1995 for the first journey but such were the numbers waiting we also used RE 338 as a duplicate. Even that wasn’t enough and 1931 Leyland Lion 1161 had to be pressed into service! We continued to be busy all day and soon tore up our timetable to run as required. It was a very successful day and thank you to all who visited us that day.

The photos show Lion 1161 awaiting service, some of our buses on display at our depot and one of the Railway’s fine locos.

Reminder that our next event is on Sunday, August 30th based at the British Commercial Vehicle Museum in Preston. Details shortly on our events page
